Step-by-Step: Finding Presence in Autumn Walks

🚶🏽‍♀️Walking has become one of my go-to mindfulness tools. Not for the steps or pace but rather for the internal and external presence.

Mind, body, and spirit, I believe we’re made of all three. And when I walk with awareness, I feel more whole. Feeling the rhythm of my breath, noticing the shift in the season, and letting my thoughts settle help stimulate creativity and calm me. This moving meditation is a way to reconnect with myself, the world around me, and my Higher Power.

There are many benefits to an outdoor walk. The fresh air clears the lungs and mental clutter, and the simple act of getting outside can create energy. A change in environment lifts my mood and sparks ideas. Some of my most powerful breakthroughs have come mid-stride when my body is in motion and my mind is free to wander.

👣 Solo walks help me align my goals with execution. They generate clarity, energy, and insight.

👫🏽  And walking together with my husband has become a sacred time for us both to enjoy nature, reflect on our partnership, and facilitate clarity and alignment in our relationship.

Whether I’m preparing for a big meeting, brainstorming a communications tactic, or connecting with someone, a short (or long!) walk often brings the insight I didn’t even know I needed. Sometimes the most strategic move really is to get outside and smell the roses. 🌹
