✨ Gratitude and discernment ✨
🙏🏽 I’m deeply grateful for the opportunities, education, and relationships that have come with every role. For me, work has never been just about tasks. It’s about discovery, growth, and producing meaningful work. My journey has produced some interesting lessons like: what a horizontal directional drill is, the best corner radius for a street sign, and, contrary to popular belief, just how tough pansies really are.
This (U.S.) Thanksgiving week, I find myself reflecting on how much I’ve learned over the years and how thankful I am for each of these experiences.
I’ve also learned that gratitude doesn’t mean holding on forever. Sometimes the most powerful act of thankfulness is recognizing when it’s time to move on. Leaving can be a gift as it creates space for someone else to bring fresh ideas and improvements. It also allows the person stepping away to redirect their energy toward new possibilities.
Gratitude honors the past. Discernment guides the future. Together, they bring clarity, grace, and renewal. To those who have been part of my past and to those who will be part of what’s ahead, my sentiment is the same: thank you.
Here’s to embracing both: being thankful for what has been, and hopeful for what’s next. 🚀
